Welcome to the Spring Detox Retreat, a doorway to optimal health and vitality.

After a season of feasting during winter hibernation or perhaps it’s been a lot longer than that… it is the perfect time to cleanse your body! There’s no better time to give your body a break, so it can reset and return to functioning optimally and looking great inside and out. Remember, you can either invest in your health now or pay for it later!

I will be your guide and support system during this 7-day detox retreat, creating a safe place for you to transform your mind and body. With many years of experience, I will share my knowledge, daily practices and most importantly my diet regime which has allowed me to maintain a youthful vitality at 77!

This is a life practice not a once off activity, this week-long detox will not magically reverse months and years of unhealthy living, it will however, equip you with the tools to properly look after your health moving forward.

Rhy thm to a perfect weight:

Reclaim how your true higher-self manifests (RHYTHM) to a perfect weight is a 1 day course, which will teach how to spend less time physically exercising and still maximize your fat burning capacity. You will have the opportunity to eliminate limiting belief systems and blockages so that you can feel healthy, happy and energized.

Access Facelift:

The Access Energetic Facelift gives the body a chance to move and transform a lot of the limiting energies and judgments that get locked in our face, head, chest, and body. A dynamic yet gentle hands-on body process, the facelift can deepen and quicken the body’s natural healing capacities.

Kundalini Yoga:

Kundalini yoga is a tool to achieve a life full of lightness, joy, and boundless love. You will become in-tune with your body and experience how practice affects the energy, emotion, and motion in your body, quickly and efficiently.

Hatha Yoga:

Hatha Yoga is beneficial for everyone as it teaches you how to direct your energy to control your body and mind. The 6 pillars are:

  1. Asanas – to gain control over the body
  2. Pranayama – to gain control over the breath
  3. Mudra – to manipulate and stimulate pranas (subtle energies)
  4. Bandhas – to stimulate chakras (energy centers)
  5. Kriyas – to purify internal organs
  6. Mantras – to control the mind

It offers you the opportunity to increase your flexibility, mobility, strength and endurance through effective stretching, unwinding and tension releasing techniques. Within a few classes, you will start noticing the healing effects in your mind and body.

Reflexology:

Reflexology applies pressure to a range of particular points on your hands and feet that correspond with all the organs, glands, tissues and muscles in your body. This helps improve circulation of blood, oxygen and energy around the body, relieving stress and healing pain in other parts of the body.

Two-day water fast:

  • 0 – 12 hours: wipes out glycogen from the liver. Glycogen is the stored form of glucose, glucose is a form of energy utilised by the body, we get this mostly through the food we eat.
  • 12 – 18 hours: new glucose is made from protein in the body. Meaning the body can create energy without the need of food.
  • 18 – 36 hours: Ketosis begins. In order for your body to burn fat, insulin must drop to use fat. Insulin is produced when we eat to metabolise food. In this period insulin is down so the body’s fat stores open up, fat is converted into triglycerides and fatty acids, which the liver converts into ketones. Ketones can be used as energy by every cell of the body, in fact it is a cleaner more efficient energy then glucose.
  • 36 – 48 hours: The astounding process of autophagy begins. It is the consumption of the body’s own tissue as a metabolic process occurring in starvation (fasting), it is the body’s way of cleaning out damaged cells, in order to regenerate newer, healthier cells.

Advantages of 48 hour water fasts:

  • Growth hormone increases by up to 2000%: the growth hormone is what keeps you young, helps muscles grow and skin regeneration.
  • Brain derived nootropic factor: new braincells are created, enhanced memory and cognitive functions.
  • Increased metabolic rate: a more efficient digestive system, better conversion and absorption of energy.
  • Insulin sensitivity: produce less insulin after fasting. Insulin is used to transfer glucose (sugar) to the liver and muscle cells to be used as energy, also used to control blood sugar levels. When your sugar intake is high, you build insulin resistance, this is when your body no longer responds well to amounts of insulin and cannot absorb energy easily.
  • Epinephrine rate goes up: epinephrine is a hormone and neurotransmitter, an increase can mean better communication between the brain and body.
  • Cortisol rate goes up: cortisol is another hormone which can help control blood sugar levels, regulate metabolism, help reduce inflammation and assist with memory formulation.

Five-day detox meal plan:

There are three main components to supporting your body’s natural detoxification processes.

  1. High amounts of dietary fibre is essential, it supports the healthy elimination of waste from the bowel. If we have a low fibre diet and aren’t having regular bowel movements then our body may reabsorb the filtered toxins. Eating a wide range of organic vegetables is a great way to increase your fibre intake.

Dark-coloured vegetables: carrot, squash, spinach, kale, tomatoes and sweet potato contain carotenes that act as antioxidants and enhance immune function.

Brassica-family vegetables: cabbage, broccoli and brussels sprouts contain phytochemicals that block cancercausing compounds from damaging cells and enhance detoxification.

Darker-fruits: berries, cherries and citrus fruits contain flavonoids that act as antioxidants, have immune-enhancing properties and have direct anti-tumour effects.

Nuts and seeds: flaxseed, sesame seed, sunflower seed, pumpkin seed, and cashew nuts contain lignans and sterols that can modulate hormone receptors and block production of carcinogens (substances that cause cancer!).

  1. High amounts of antioxidants as these are the opposite of free radicals (linked to a variety of chronic conditions such as heart disease, cancer, arthritis, inflammatory conditions, cataracts, weakened immunity and aging).

Good sources of antioxidants are brightly coloured fruits and vegetables such as kale, apple, turmeric, ginger, berries, etc.

  1. Drinking plenty of water (spring or filtered) supports elimination of waste via the kidneys.

Following the 48hour water fast we will introduce fruit/veg juices designed to aid the detoxification process and ease the stomach back into eating. Then we will introduce more foods tailored to an ideal balanced diet which will be our aim moving forward.

Sauerkraut Workshop:

Learn to make the infamous Russian Craft Sauerkraut which is incredibly nutritious and healthy. It provides probiotics and vitamin K2, which are known for their health benefits, and many other nutrients. Eating sauerkraut may help you strengthen your immune system, improve your digestion, reduce your risk of certain diseases, and even help lose weight.

3 days prior to this detox retreat participants are encouraged to remove:
